Customer Review: I bought new (not used) book. It's nice, pages are not too thin and pictures are really bright.
There is enough space on pages if you'd like to write/add your own notes :-) I like the cover, it does seem to be made for repeated flipping!
This edition has Efficient preparation section that was missing in some previous years. I think it's a very good section that was out for several years.

Customer Review: Really solid and really easy to understand.
Good diagrams and good relevant clinical sections.
Not a huge amount of neuro, but that best done elsewhere

Customer Review: My pathology course was taught by the guys who WROTE BRS (the major competitor for this book), so my entire path knowledge come February was just excerpts from BRS. Not nearly enough to do well. Around March I obtained the Goljan lectures that have been heavily torrented online. These lectures were FANTASTIC and explained things in detail so I could understand the pathology and underlying mechanisms, explained diagnostic techniques, and even discussed treatments. He also tied things into physiology, pharmacology and biochemistry, so I felt like my understanding was truly integrated. Keep in mind the lectures, though fantastic, did not encompass the entire scope of the course. This made me de...

Customer Review: I used this to study for the NCLEX-RN. It covered a lot of material and was a good refresher course before I took the NCLEX. The information is presented in a broken down manner that is easy to read, and there are many diagrams and information boxes to refer to. I think I'll even keep this one around as a reference book instead of reselling it. The questions (with rationales) in the book and on the CD were helpful and I felt like I was getting good preparation. The CD-ROM had a lot of alternate format questions that I recommend going over, too. I would recommend this one to a nursing student, however I wouldnt use this review book alone if studying for NCLEX-RN. I recommend getting an NCLE...

Customer Review: I cannot deny that this book fills a great need in internal medicine, where evidence based medicine is the current trend. For an advanced 3rd year medical student, 4th year medical student and interns alike, this book is solid gold. Get ready to begin practicing evidence based medicine the second you pick this book up. The most common ailments encountered by a house officer are listed with pretty much everything that you would need to know from A-Z to treat the disease or keep it under control until a specialty service is consulted. It is filled with references and one line key pointers to update you on current research. This book elegantly bullet points the crux of medicine that every ...

Customer Review: While I feel like there is some important information missing from this book, its not meant to be a complete text and is supposed to be supplemented with other material. I am using this along with Step up to Step 2 and USMLE World ? bank. I feel like I'm getting an adequate exposure to all topics this way. With that being said, I have't taken my test yet...

Customer Review: I highly recommend this book to anyone taking the NCLEX-RN. It lays out the strategies on how to take the test and it also has plenty of practice questions in the book and on the CD-ROM, with rationales in the back of the book. It even gives you advice and tells you about what to expect on testing day and information on the licensure process. Reading through the book and using the practice questions really reduced my anxiety about taking the NCLEX and during the exam when I wasn't sure of the answer, I just carefully went through the strategies I learned from the book and it must have worked because I passed on the first try earlier this month with only 75 questions. It didnt mention anythin...

Customer Review: As soon as my wife got pregnant, the deluge of books started coming in for her. I was shocked at the huggy-feel-good nurture your baby books. All of them have the tone of how to have a baby for dummies. I wanted some real science, unfiltered and without the emotional crap. In my research for a book that would tell me the details of human development I happened on this book.
I really liked this book.
As a layman it was a good place for me to go back and review all the biology that I learned many years ago. It was also good to know what all the measurements, blood tests, and various poking and prodding all meant. Having some of a science background it was a good over...
