Customer Review: I needed this book for a Health Education course. I was sore after being ripped off for a similar book at the college campus bookstore, where I paid $186 for a book that sold for $100 on Amazon.com. Disappointed with that purchase I came back to Amazon.com to purchase this book, new, for a nearly one third of the campus bookstore price.
The book gives a very broad but thorough overview of community health. I like the format and would surely reccommend it to others
I ordered the book and it was sent out promptly. I have no complaints!

Customer Review: This book was purchased for a college course, but the more I learn, the more I think that everyone should take the time to read this book. It is very thorough and full of facts about every kind of drug: prescription drugs, alcohol, stimulants, depressants, opiates, inhalants, hallucinogens, etc.
It covers the history of the drug and present use in the United States. It also covers the different ways that the drug can be administered, affects on the central nervous system and other major systems of the body and their effects on homeostatic balance. There are also chapters on drug prevention and treating dependency.
Overall I think it is a great read and VERY e...

Customer Review: I bought this book because I was unable to take my university's psychopharmacology course. As a master's level mental health clinician working with a poor and chronic population, knowledge of this area is key.
This book was written and edited by a Psy. D (someone who has received very advanced, completely applied training in clinical psychology), an MD, and a pharmacist. The result is a masterful blend; all three of their areas of expertise have equal import.
Every therapist should own and read a copy of this book. Packed with useful information, and fascinating- no joke; I brought this page-turner with me to the beach all summer. If you read nothing else on psych...

Customer Review: I would not typically find such a book all that wonderful however, as part of my required reading for my nursing program,I found it quite informative and in some cases eye opening. Many nursing students get hung up on the hands on portion of our work and fail to understand why we do what we do, or the importance of doing it correctly. The legal issues presented in this text help to illuminate the importance of covering ones back-side.

Customer Review: This book is such a great read. Even if you have not ever been diagnosed with Hypothyroid, you should read this book. Especially if you haven't.
The information in the book is eye opening. Now I know for sure why I feel the way I do and know why certain people in my family died.
I have switched my meds to desiccated thyroid hormone as indicated in the book. It's just a month and I already see an improvement from my Synthroid.
This book may have saved my life.

Customer Review: I was required to read this book for a class on Nursing Leadership. It is an excellent book hitting on many relevant topics in nursing leadership. There are chapters on the history and development of nursing leadership as well as ideas and goals for the future. Each chapter is infused with relevant quotes from a wide variety of sources that add to the information being learned at the time. One particular chapter of significance is #6 dealing with Gender Perspective in Leadership, something very important in nursing as more men are coming into a traditionally female profession.
Overall, I think this book should be required reading in all nursing education programs and it is now a...

Customer Review: This text is easy to read, explains concepts well. For a required text it's pretty good, it hasn't put me to sleep yet. I'll be reading all the chapters, not just the required ones.

Customer Review: So far the book has been good. It would be nice if there were pictures to break up the text.

Customer Review: Although an in-depth book about health program planning and evaluation, I found it lacked the necessary components or discussion of the PRECEDE-PROCEED Model which is pretty huge in our business.
