by Irvin Yalom

Customer Review: Yalom is not just a master story teller, but also an inspirational teacher to professionals working in the area of mental health. This gem, an open letter to current and future generations of therapists, constitutes a series of brief chapters in which Yalom passes on his wisdom regarding the art of therapy. As a practicing clinical psychologist, I've found this book to be a rewarding and valuable resource and would recommend it to my colleagues. It's well written, easy to read, and is refreshingly free of technical jargon. His 'keep it real' perspective reminds us all that therapists are also human and as vulnerable to frailty as their clients. It really is a gift.

Customer Review: This is an excellent book from a very bright kid who suffers from this syndrome. It is written from a British point of view but should be beneficial regardless of country of origin. Now if I can just get my 33 year old son to read it.

Customer Review: Going into my first year of nursing school I felt I needed every weapon available ... this "planner" is so much more. Very thorough with some chapters I never would have thought about regarding learning and life! Great reference book too. Spiral bound very well for "active" page turning.

Customer Review: I wish I had known about this effort earlier. It is so inspiring to see how the Kaguris and their colleagues could see what needed to be done for the many AIDS orphans in their community. Not only they had the vision but they strike to build a sustainable mode. Thank you for writing your story and inspiring all of us.
